Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team! This individual will play a crucial role in assisting our HR department with a variety of tasks and ensuring smooth operations across different HR programs and initiatives. Job Summary: As the Human Resources Assistant, you will serve as the first point of contact for the HR department, handling essential HR functions and ensuring efficiency in employee-related programs. Your support will be key in assisting with various HR operations, including recruitment, benefits, employee transactions, and more. You'll also work closely with the HR team to streamline processes and support overall department needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support & Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for the HR department, responding to inquiries and directing communication to the appropriate individuals or departments.
  • HR Program Support: Assist with the administration of various HR programs such as Leave of Absence (LOA), Workers' Compensation, Stings, Benefits, background checks, and other employee-related tasks.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and generate reports as needed.
  • Recruitment Support: Administer recruiting and onboarding systems, assist hiring managers, monitor recruiting activities, and troubleshoot issues. Maintain communication with vendors and help desk teams.
  • Background Checks & Documentation: Manage and perform background checks for new employees, and ensure all letters and memos are accurately transcribed, proofread, and finalized.
  • Project & Event Coordination: Assist with scheduling and coordinating HR-related projects, including webinars, conference calls, and staff meetings. Manage logistical support for HR training activities and events.
  • Reporting & Record Management: Develop tracking methods, maintain indexes, and ensure proper archiving of records and reports.
Non-Essential Duties:
  • Assist with research projects.
  • Prepare and distribute updated reports as needed.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and other staff logistics.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education/Experience:
    • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or
    • 3-6 months related experience and/or training, or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret documents and write reports and correspondence.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
    • Basic mathematical skills for handling percentages, commissions, and simple algebra.
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems and apply practical solutions.
  • Certificates/ Licenses:
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting with occasional standing, walking, and use of hands for various tasks.
